Ray Edward Anderson Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Friend, and much more, Ray was born at home in a small town of Boicourt, Kansas outside of La Cygne on December 30, 1943, the son of Clarence and Lula Morris Anderson. Ray attended Boicourt Grade School and graduated from LaCygne High School in 1962. He was a loving source of support to those who knew him. He could always be counted on for a ride, help with a home project or move, and just about anything you asked or needed. His dependability created a sense of stability and security to those close to him. Generous to a fault, Ray gave his family a strong foundation from which to spring from. Although he was not the most social of men, Ray loved bowling and watching sports and westerns movies. He always could be seen sitting in the corner of the room, with one eye on the television and the other observing his grandchildren with a big grin on his face. He loved family outings and was ready to push the stroller or carry his grandchild or whatever was needed to be the stalwart support to those he loved. Ray was looking forward to enjoying his retirement and traveling after a life-time of hard labor working as a logger, diesel mechanic, dye cutter, and industrial lumber yard worker. The highlight of his livelihood was when he worked in the cinematic printing industry where he rolled and shipped movie posters. He was able to meet his ultimate hero’s John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Ray spent many years of his life in devoted service to his Lord through the Pentecostal church. The day he answered God’s call an empty space was left in many hearts of those who knew and loved him. Ray is survived by his four children Michael Ray Anderson, Patrick Wayne Anderson, Sonya Jo Mendez, and Angela Michelle Armstrong. Ray was married for 25 years to the love of his life Karolyn Jo Clarke who he met at age 6 and continued to be friends with long after their divorce. He is also survived by two brothers, Bill Anderson and Bob Anderson, and two sisters, Joyce Pratt and Janice Turner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Miller. His grandchildren were the pride of his later life and what he may have felt he missed with his own children; he made up for it in being a grandpa. He took interest in what they were each doing and loved to be included in their life. Thinking of Ray brings tears to our eyes; he will always be treasured. We wish heaven had a phone so we could hear your voice again. We thought of you today, but that is nothing new as we thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence and we often speak your name. All we have are memories and pictures in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which we will never part. God has you in his arms...we have you in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday May 25, 2010 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
