Peter
March 2, 1834 @ Spencer County, Kentucky
October 16, 1885 @ Chetopa, Kansas.

Peter is the son of Eli Goodwin and Eliza Mariah Snider Goodwin. He grew up in Spencer County, Kentucky on his father's farm. Around 1856, he and his brother, George, moved to Union County, Kentucky where he married America Kuykendall on December 27, 1858. They had four daughters. Following America's death in 1868, he married Phoebe Robertson and they had four children.

Around 1870, Peter and his family, along with several other Goodwins, came to Labette County, Kansas, to make their home. Following Phoebe's death in 1875, Peter married Margaret Gilmore on December 24, 1877. This marriage was apparently brief and it is not known what became of her. He last married Rosa Beauchamp on February 24, 1878 in Cherokee County, Kansas and they had 3 children. Peter was a farmer all his life.

Peter and his little daughter, Nellie, share a stone.
