"Mary Arilla Maxwell was born in Columbus City, Louisa County Iowa January 2, 1862. She came to Kansas with her parents. She was united in marriage to P E Kincaid June 16, 1877. To them 10 children were born, 3 of whom passed away in infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband and seven children. Ocie Van Ness, Muscatine Iowa. Challenges Kincaid of Downs Kansas, Tony Kincaid of Stockton, Mrs Addie McGee of Buffalo Oklahoma, Mrs Zellah Koontz of Stockton, Kansas, Mrs Hazel Fulghum of Wilson, Kansas and Mr Donnie Kincaid of Glade, Kansas Also 15 grandchildren, brothers A H Maxwell of Sedro, Washington and Ben Maxwell of West Point Washington, sisters Mrs Ella Wooten of Independence Kansas and Mrs Lina Zenor of Denver Colorado, who were present at the funeral.
She was baptized in the Methodist faith about 21 years ago. She was a faithful member until she passed away Tuesday, December 11, 1928 at 6 am at home. She was a devoted wife, a loving grandmothers and one who was always ready to lend a helping hand.She was laid to rest in the Bow Creek Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev R.Thrasher."

"Perron Emanual Kincaid was born on September 22, 1857 in Columbus Junction, Iowa and departed this life on November 20, 1940 at the home of his son Tonie Kincaid at the age of 83 years, 1 month, 28 days. He was one of the early settlers of Kansas and homesteaded his place near Kirwin in 1878.On June 16, 1877, he was married to Mary Arilla Maxwell and moved to their home on Bow Creek, where he lived until 5 years ago when he moved to Downs. Two weeks ago he came to his son Tonie's for a visit where he became ill and never recovered.
To this union ten children were born, three of whom died in infancy. His wife preceded him in death 12 years ago. Those who remain to mourn his going are his daughters, Mrs Ocie Van Ness, Chicago Illinois; Mrs Hazel Fulghum, Los Angeles, California; Mrs Addie McGee, Buffalo, Oklahoma; Mrs Zellah Koontz, Stockton, Kansas;
sons Tonie; Donnie and Chal Kincaid all of Stockton; half sisters, Mrs Lillie Gilmore, Fort Collins, Colorado and Mrs Minnie Belford, Tangier, Oklahoma; half-brothers, Paul of Kirwin, Dick of Allison, Kansas; Booth of Jacksonville, Florida; 15 granchildren, 10 great granchildren and a host of their relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00pm at Stockton at the Smith memorial Chapel with Rev A Harmon in charge. Music was furnished by the male quartette, accompanied by Jane Valette.
Interment was at the Bow Creek Cemetery."
