Floyd A. Betterton, 92, died Sept. 8 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation. Born Sept. 20, 1915, in Nowata, Okla., he was the son of Martin Luther and Iva Mae Simmons Betterton. He married Dolores Lannon on Dec. 17, 1942, at Pawhuska, Okla. She died March 20, 2008. A resident of Great Bend since 1965, he was a pumper for Phillips Petroleum.

Mr. Betterton was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 646.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Dianne Betterton of Wichita, and three grandchildren, Richard Betterton, Angela Hunnicutt and Michael Betterton.

Graveside service was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Great Bend Cemetery. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at
