Helen R. Cargill, 86, of Great Bend, died Sept. 4, 2007, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born March 13, 1921, at Jennings, Okla., the daughter of Claude D. and Esther A. Green Kizer. She married John D. Cargill on Aug. 14, 1943, at Salina. He survives. She was a homemaker, and a salesperson for J.M. McDonald Company for 10 years. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1962 and had lived in El Dorado for a short time.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Thread Benders Quilt Guild and WCTU, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband, John Cargill, of the home; a daughter, Dianne Schippert and husband Jim of Great Bend; a brother, Jack Kizer of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; two sisters, Dorothy Milam of Grandbury, Texas, and Virginia Russell of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren, David Schippert, M.D., and wife Jessica of Rochester, N.Y., and Brian Schippert of McPherson; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Schippert. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Joe Kizer, three sisters, Lucille Forbes, Reba Wilburn and Geneva Campbell, and one granddaughter, Kristina Schippert.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Hal Staats officiating.
