Carla Detherage, 58, of Great Bend, died Nov. 18 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born Nov. 23, 1948, at Russell, the daughter of Robert and Belva Bealby Vonfeldt. She was a graduate of Ellis High School and a longtime resident of Great Bend. She married Coyle Detherage in 1988 at Miami, Okla. She was the financial controller at Highland Hotel and Convention Center. Previously, she spent many years in bookkeeping and accounting roles with Harper Builders.

Mrs. Detherage was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, the Altar Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary, all of Great Bend.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her husband, Coyle "Junebug" Detherage, of the home; two daughters, Caryl Niedens and husband Lyle of Westwood and Lisa Francis of Great Bend; a brother, Jim Newton and wife Liz of Ellis; and two grandchildren, Conley Niedens and Pierce Niedens, both of Westwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lori Ann Francis.

An Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. today and a vigil service at 7 p.m., both at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery.
