John A Betzner

John A Betzner, 63, Concordia, died April 14, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan 24, 1937, at Tarkio, MO to Clinton and Margaret Mason Betzner. He had been a resident of the Concordia community since he was 16 years old and was raised by Raymond & Margaret Waite. He married Dorothy Ann Anderson on Sept 6, 1957, at Concordia. He was employed for 27 years at Fairmount Creamery in Concorida. He later worked several years for Frank Demanette Plumbing and at the Moose Lodge. He was a life member of the Moose Lodge, having served as Governor during 1984 and 1985 and he was the North Moose in the Legion of the Moose.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Betzner of Concordia; two sons, Darrell Betzner of Brookville and John Betzner and wife Annette of Concordia; three daughters, Jan Jacobson & husband Karl of Concordia, Ann Buresh of Salina and Laurie Smith & husband Clarence of Concordia; two brothers, Melvin Betzner of Atwood & Marvin Betzner of Concordia; three sisters, Viola Morales of Mount Dora, FL, Madeline Doyle of Mansfield, TX and Mildred Betzner of Jamestown; 18 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Merle Betzner.

Dorothy A Betzner, age 72 years, 10 months, 10 days, passed from this life on June 25, 2007 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS. She was born August 15, 1934 in Concordia to Floyd and Mary Burch Anderson of Concordia, KS. She married John A Betzner on September 6, 1957 in Concordia, KS.

Dorothy was a valuable and loyal member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #1278 of Concordia, KS since 1978. In 1985-1986 shw was Senior Regent of the Chapter and due to her hard work & dedication she received the prestigious honor of College Regents at a ceremony in Philadelphia, PA. She received her 25 year pin form the Chapter in 2003. She joined the VFW Auxiliary in 1983 and received her 20 year pin in 2003. She loved collecting frog statues, playing Bingo, volunteering at Moose functions, shopping, traveling and sewing. Due to her love of sewing she worked at Scott's Specialties in Concordia from 1987 until her retirement in1999 when her beloved husband John fell ill.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Jan Jacobson and husband Karl, Rural Concordia, Ann Buresh & Ken Lukavsky, Salina, KS; Laurie Smith & husband Clarence, Concordia, KS; 2 sons: John C Betzner & wife Annette, Rural Concordia; Darrell Betzner & Charlene Scott, Brookville, KS. 5 Brothers: Floyd Anderson & wife Darlene, Great Bend, KS; James Anderson & Wife Norma Jean, Russell, KS; Roy Anderson & wife Kay, Concordia, KS; Elton Anderson & wife Rose, Concordia, KS; Robert Anderson & wife Bobbie of Blooming Grove, TX 2 sisters: Frances Hall & husband Bill, Wichita, KS; Virginia Moss & husband Jack, Glasco, KS. 2 Brothers-in-law: Marvin Betzner, Concordia, KS; Melvin Betzner, Atwood, KS 1 sister-in-law: Madeline Doyle & husband Sam, Mansfield, TX 24 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews, and a host of family & friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; one brother, Charles Richard Anderson; and two sisters, Barbara Jean Anderson and Florence Bascart.
