Son of Benjamin F and Mary J Henry. He was a registered pharmacist for more than 50 years, and had owned and operated pharmacies in Kanopolis, Clay Center and Abilene. He was a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church, and Benevolent Lodge No 98 at Abilene.

Daughter of William James and Stella Theodosia Brewster Bonwell, She was a graduate of Emporia State Teacher's College, Emporia, Kansas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Auburn and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
