Opal Marie Garst Murray Edwards, 85, Glasco, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Nicol Home in Glasco. She was born June 19, 1928 in Wells to Mark Ellsworth and Eva Evangeline (Jagger) Garst.

Opal worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide at the Clark Nursing Home and Asbury Hospital. Delphos and Minneapolis were considered home to Opal. She was united in marriage with James Edwards on November 21, 2007 in Minneapolis.

Opal was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Barr; brother George Garst; and sisters Lela Brock and Mary Rayls; and her grandson Rodney Stanley.

Survivors include her husband Jim Edwards; children Monte (Beth) Murray, Dianna (Charles) Jones, and Kathy (Raymond) Davis; brothers Pat, Bob, and Mark Eldon Garst; sisters Sylvia Schramek, Cathy Smith, and Bonnie Strutt; and eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 2 at the Free Methodist Church, 845 Woodland, Minneapolis. There will be no visitation and burial will be at a later date in Culver Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Opal Edwards Memorial Fund and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
