Mrs. Mary Emma Ketcham, aged 77 years, succumbed Sunday, July 8, at 3:30 AM following a short illness, at the home of her son, J. D. Alldaffer, four miles south of Burley. The deceased was born in Lee Co., IA, Sept. 17, 1856, the daughter of Ben and Margaret Martindale. When a small child, she and her parents located in Indiana, where she met and married Newton E. Alldaffer at Plymouth, IN, on Sept. 25 1873. To this union were born eight children. Her husband and three children preceded her in death several years ago. On August 6, 1918, she married Wesley Ketcham at Culver, KS, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are the following children: J.D. Alldaffer, Burley; Mrs. Ethel Herrrington, Burley; Mrs. James Harding, Buhl; Benjamin Alldaffer, Salina, KS; Mrs Bertha Gill of Colorado Springs, CO. She had been a resident of Burley for the past several years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Johnson Chapel with Rev. C.C. Arras conducting the services. Musical numbers consisted of two duets, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", by Miss Vernal Ward and Mrs. Cecil Williams; "Beautiful Home", by Mrs. R. D. Kelly and Mrs. Ellis Burnett, accompanied by D. E. Johnson. The body was shipped Tuesday to Salina, KS, for burial, which will be made in the Culver, KS cemetery. D.E. Johnson was the undertaker in charge.
