OBIT
Ray LaMastus, 84, of Denison, KS passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Cedar Village in McPherson, KS. He was born August 30, 1930 in Bowling Green, KY the son of John and Jewel (Neighbors) LaMastus.

Ray had lived in the Denison community since 1993 and previously in Culver, KS. He was an over the road truck driver.

Ray married Barbara Kay Fox on October 22, 1960 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2014. He was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, Mary, Bennie, Nevera, and Nina LaMastus and 6 brothers, Sam, Ernest, Earl, Shirley, Billy and James LaMastus.

Survivors include 2 sons, Ronnie L. LaMastus (Tanya) of Roxbury, KS and Donald LaMastus (Sue) of Holton, KS; a sister, Carol Schadler of Missouri; a brother, Bennie LaMastus of Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Kristine LaMastus, Ryan LaMastus (Hayley), Kyle LaMastus, Cody LaMastus and Chris Morr and 3 great-grandchildren, Shane Miller and Alyssa and Brayden LaMastus. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Sam, Ernest, Earl, Shirley, Billy, and James and sisters; Mary, Bennie, Nevera and Nina.

A Celebration of Ray’s life will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Culver Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Shriners Children’s Hospital c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
