Arthur Howard Davis, Sr., 84, of Salina, passed away Monday, March 28th, 2011.

Arthur was born in Alta Vista, Kansas on November 21, 1926, the son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Yahn) Davis.

He was a WWII Veteran and Produce Manager at Dillons in Salina for 38 years.

Arthur was a Lifetime VFW Post #1432 member and past Post Commander, Funeral detail volunteer with the VFW. A 32nd Dgr. Mason with the Masonic Lodge and active in the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Seniors Municipal Golf Club.

On January 1, 1950, at the Chase County Court House in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, Arthur married Elise Mary (Robbins) Davis and she precedes him in death in 2004.

Survivors include daughter: Cheryl "Cherry" L. Frain (Jack) of Salina, son: Arthur H. Davis, Jr. (Betty) of Bennington, two grandsons: Matthew Davis (Katy Watts) of Chicago, IL, Clinton (Echo) Davis of Topeka; three granddaughters: Jennifer (Mike) Redmond, Marcy Frain, Laurie Came (Bill), all of Salina; three great grandsons: Dakota Came, Spencer Came and Alexander Linenberger all of Salina; two great granddaughters: Macy Linenberger, Meryn Came both of Salina; step great granddaughter, Michela Redmond, Salina; step great grandson: Grady Redmond of Salina; brothers: Jim Davis of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Duane Davis of Peabody, Terry Davis of Newton; Sisters: Arlene White of Wakeeney, Naomi Mitchell of Topeka, Laverne Hawkins of Madison, Wanda Lemay of Council Grove, Betty Shelton of Council Grove, Becky Brannan of Abilene.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Elise (Robbins) Davis, brother: Charlie Davis, sister: Mayetta and her husband Bill Warneke.

Friends are invited to call Wednesday, March 30 from 9 am - 8 pm with the family receiving friends from 6 pm - 8 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at the Culver Union Cemetery at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 31st, with Chaplin D. Longbine officiating. A procession from the funeral home to the cemetery will leave at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veteran of Foreign War Post #1432 Salina, or Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders-Topeka Chapter 515 S. Kansas Ave, B2 Topeka, Kansas 66603-3415.
