DAVID ALEXANDER WATSON
David A. was the son of James and Anna (West) Ostrander Watson. He married Orlena Cudney Mitchel on August 28, 1864, perhaps in Colorado. They were the parents of 7 sons: Truman, Henry, David E., Luther, Arthur, Rufus and Earnest. Truman and Arthur died as young boys. It is unknown where Truman was buried...probably in Colorado.
..David A. was probably born in Joe Daviess or Carroll County, ILL. He and his family lived southwest of Bronson in Allen County, Kansas and he died at home.

Orlena was probably the daughter of Robert and Emarilla Cudney. She was adopted at about the age of 3 by a Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel. The story goes that she was the only survivor on a wagon train that was attacked by Indians in Iowa. Another story is that David A. Watson found her wandering around on the prairie which could very well be true, a continuation of the first story.
