December 25, 1848 - June 9, 1917

Luvicy Jane Ward was born in Lawrence Co., Mo., December 25, 1848. She came with her parents to Bourbon Co., Kans. in 1855 and was married to Joe Ralston in 1867 (April 21) by Rev. John Allenbaugh.
To this union were born eight children. Finis Ralston of Johnstown, Colo; Mrs. C. A. Shubert of Uniontown, Ks., Mrs. Bryant, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Cora Kough of Neodesha, Kans.; Mrs. Alta Mangold; Mrs. Del Quick; and Miss Lulu Ralston of Redfield and one son who died in 1900. All of her family, ministered to her wants during her long illness and all were at her bedside at the last except the son and daughter in Colorado.
She leaves fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also one devoted sister, Mrs. Ollie Hickman, of Satanta, Kansas.
She avowed he life to Christ and joined the Presbyterian Church in 1864. She lived a consistent Christian life thru all the years, passing to the great beyond June 9, 1917.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the M.E. church and interment was made in the Hatch cemetery.
