Mrs Harriett Cary, wife of Mr Abraham Cary, died this morning at 5 o'clock at the family residence just west of the city limits north of main. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev R G Edwards, pastor of the Church of Christ, conducting the funeral services and interment in Oakwood cemetery. The pall bearers are W L Oler, Peter Eishenbrandt, John H Clark, James Campbell, J W Birt and Cas Conway.
Had Mrs. Cary lived until next April, she would hae been 78 years of age. She was born in Ohio, and came west with her parents when a little girl and in 1865 was married to her now bereaved husband who with 2 sons, S B Cary and Will Cary, survive her. Another who mourns her death is a grand daugther, Miss Mary Cary who has for years made her home with her grandparents.
In 1869, Mrs Cary moved to Parsons and has resided here since. One of the best loved and highly respected of the women of Parsons. Mrs Cary had only been ill a few days, her death the result of a stroke of Apoplexy. Her son, S B Cary was for years a businessman of Parsons and now lives in Marshall, Missouri while the other son lives on a farm in the south part of the county. She was at once grandmother, mother and companion.
