The funeral for Luther Tucker, 78, 1809 Shady Bend Drive, retired owner-manager of a bowling alley, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ryan Mortuary, Dr. Stanley C. Rogge officiating.



Mr. Tucker died Sunday at St. John's Hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1900, at Gypsum and spent most of his life in the area. He returned to Salina in 1958 from Grandview, Mo., to manage the Holiday Bowl, spent 1964 to 1974 at Belton, Mo., and then returned here.
An Army veteran of World War I, Mr. Tucker was a member of the 1920 U.S.A. Olympic tug-of-war team which won a silver medal at Antwerp, Belgium.
He was a member of the New Holiday Bowl board of trustees, Salina Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Consistory, Isis Shrine and Legion of Honor, Harmony Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are a brother, Wilbur, 302 W. Elm, and a sister, Mrs. Edna Corman, Beverly. His wife, Kathryn died in 1978.
Burial will be in Culver Union Cemetery, Culver. The family suggests memorials to the Shriners' Crippled Children Hospitals. Friends may call at the mortuary.
