July 11, 1917 - January 15, 1926

Daughter of Ernest Henry and Edith Blanche Robinson Pool.

Bronson Pilot, January 22, 1926
Not only among the "bearded grain" has the Reaper wrought in recent days. The community was saddened last Friday by the word that little Leota Maxine Pool, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Pool, had passed away at the Ft. Scott hospital where she had been taken but a few days before for treatment of spinal meningitis.
Leota Maxine Pool was born July 11, 1917 in the South Fairview neighborhood, south of Bronson, and passed away at the Ft. Scott Hospital January 15, 1926, aged 8 years, 6 months and 4 days. Leota had suffered for over a month with what seemed to be a gathering in her head which settled in her spinal cord causing intense suffering the last two days. She was taken to the Ft. Scott Hospital Thursday evening but the disease was such that nothing could be done to save her and the little life went out at four o'clock the next day. Though she had suffered at times no one realized her ailment was serious and her going came as a great shock, not only to the relatives, but to the whole community, for Leota was of such an affectionate, attractive disposition that she won her way into the hearts of all with whom she came in contact, hence her friends were numbered by the score. All will miss Leota for she was bright and willing to help; her teachers and playmates will miss her both in school and Sunday school.
She leaves to mourn her going, heart-broken parents, two sisters, one sister having preceded her, also a grandfather and grandmother, besides a host of relatives and friends.
All was done for her that her loved ones could do, but God needed another blossom, so He called Leota.
The loved ones have the deepest sympathy of all.
