J W Tennyson is Dead
One of Bourbon County's Earliest Settlers Passed Away Today
Resided for Years Near Uniontown
Owned Over 1,000 Acres of Valuable Land In This County -
Came to This County Many Years Ago and Grew Up With the Country.

Undertaker George H. Konantz this afternoon received a telephone message from Uniontown stating that J. W. Tennison, one of the oldest and wealthiest farmers residing in Bourbon County, had died.
Mr. Tennison has been a sufferer for some time from asthma. His illness has been known to be serious and his intimate friends did not look for his recovery because of his advanced age.
The deceased was about 70 years old, and had resided in this county for nearly forty years. Mr. Tennyson homesteaded a claim many years ago, and since that time has been a resident of Bourbon County. During his long residence here he amassed quite a competency, and at the time of his death was considered one of the wealthiest farmers in the county. He owned 1,000 acres of valuable farming land and has one of the most modern farmhouses and the best-improved lands in the southeastern part of the state.
He recently erected one of the largest barns ever contracted for in the county and was at all times improving his property. He leaves quite a number of relatives to mourn his loss. Mr. Konantz left at once for Uniontown to prepare the family for burial.
------------
Mr. Tennyson was first married to Mary Ann Frasier Tennyson.
Catharine Black was his second wife.
He was the son of Rutherford Tennyson.
