WILL SINGMASTER GUNSHOT FATALITY
William Singmaster, 79, of Route 1, died Tuesday afternoon of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to the sheriff's office. Singmaster shot himself with a .22-caliber rifle behind the left ear.
Singmaster was born December 8, 1890, in Washington County, Iowa, the son of A.I. and Clara Brown Singmaster. At age 10 he moved with his parents to the Clarksburg community. Following his marriage February 8, 1911 at Garland to Miss Ella Faye Anderson, the couple lived in the Catt Community.
Surviving besides the widow are six children: Mrs. Paul (Faye) Wiley, Sacramento, CA; Clarence Singmaster, Portland, OR; Mrs. Irene Robertson, Tulsa, OK; Mrs. Bill (Wilma) McClain, Overland Park, KS; Kenneth
Singmaster, Pleasant Hill, MO; and Leon Singmaster, Casper, WY. Two brothers, Roy and Ralph of Fort Scott, KS; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Singmaster was a member of the Methodist Church and the Grange. For 35 years he served on the Catt school board. Konantz Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
