Stephen Linn Singmaster, 57, Fort Scott, died early Thursday morning, June 22, 2006 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.

He was born Aug. 24, 1948, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the son of Ralph and Ida Maude Cowan Singmaster. He married Sandra Kay Sally Oct. 21, 1972, in Green Mountain Falls, Colo. She preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2004.

Stephen worked as an electrical lineman for power companies for many years. He also loved making saddles and owned his own saddle shop in Tucson, Ariz.

He is survived by a son and a daughter. Also survived by a sister and a brother; several cousins and two aunts; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Sandra, he was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Terry Singmaster and Darrell Singmaster.

Following cremation the Rev. Steve Mohta conducted memorial services on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial was to be in the Clarksburg Cemetery at a later date. Memorials were suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
