Siegle McKinnis, age 82, a resident of Uniontown, died suddenly Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at his farm south of Bronson.
He was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Uniontown, the son of Robert Roy McKinnis and Ruth Marie Kirker McKinnis. He married Waneta Rogers Dec. 27, 1940, in Uniontown.
He was a graduate of Uniontown High School and Fort Scott Junior College, now Fort Scott Community College.
Following his marriage to Waneta, they moved to the Kirker farm, located south of Bronson, where they farmed and ranched. In 1972, they moved to Uniontown, when their son Warren, moved to the farm and joined them in the farming and ranching operation.
His membership included the Uniontown United Methodist Churrch, the Uniontown Ruritan Club, the Uniontown Saddle Club, and the Bronson Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Waneta, of the home; three sisters, Virginia Hoyle of Broomfield, Colo., Lucille Lewis and Jean O'Dell, both of Fort Scott; one brother, Dr. Richard McKinnis of Warrensburg, Mo.; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. He is also mourned by a daughter-in-law, Vera McKinnis Scifers of Fort Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Warren McKinnis; and a brother, Norman McKinnis.
The Rev. Connie McKee will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, at the Uniontown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Uniontown Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
