Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home Obituary, March 1, 2001
Ed L. Ramsey, age 71, Uniontown, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Ft. Scott Mercy Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1929, in rural Uniontown, the son of Loren Edward Ramsey and Eva Isabelle Wilson Ramsey. He was a twin to Edna L. He attended schools in Uniontown and graduated from Uniontown High School in 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from November 1948 until November 1952, while working as a ground control radar operator.
On May 26, 1951, he married Alice Griffith in Uniontown.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of the home; four children, Gayle Sackett, Linda Rogers, and Curtis Ramsey, all of Ft. Scott, and Michael Ramsey of Zambia, Africa; a twin sister, Edna Miller of Valencia, Calif.; two more sisters, Julia Blythe and Nancy Lovall, both of Uniontown, and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Following cremation, the Rev. Connie McKee conducted a memorial service on Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the Uniontown Methodist Church.
Memorials to the Christian Missions in Africa and left in care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home in Ft. Scott.
