Carme Edgar Jones, 60, Uniontown, rural mail carrier for the past 32 years, father of Robert G. Jones, suffered a heart attack about 11:30 a.m. today on his route eight miles northeast of Uniontown near the Bradbury farm home. He was dead on arrival at the Fort Scott Mercy Hospital.
The son of Charles D. and Nancy Kerlee Jones, he was born Nov. 20, 1897, near Walkertown, southwest of Fort Scott.
Surviving is another son Charles Lewis Jones, Uniontown; and one brother, Amel Jones, Centerville, Kas.
Funeral services were held at Tuesday (12-24-1957) afternoon at the Uniontown Methodist Church with Bill Coleman, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Fort Scott officiating. A large delegation from the Western Insurance Companies, representatives from the Modern Woodmen of America Lodge and a unit representing the Rural Letter Carriers Ass'n attended in groups.
Burial was in Uniontown Cemetery. Earl's Memorial Home was in charge.
