Georgia Blanche Willis Jones, 93, a resident of Marmaton Valley Nursing Home in Uniontown, died at the nursing home Monday, Jan. 16, 1995. She was born Oct. 27, 1901, near Mapleton, the daughter of Willie Lewis and Mary Alice Likely Willis. She lived in Bourbon County most of her life and graduated from Uniontown High School. She attended Pittsburg State Teachers College (Pittsburg State University) and taught school for 27 years. She was a member of the Uniontown Baptist Church. She married Amel Roscoe Jones on April 30, 1927, at Fort Scott. He died April 18, 1973.
Survivors include a son, Roscoe Jones, Uniontown; a daughter, Ronda McCollam, Independence, MO; a sister Leota Smith, a resident of the Moran Manor Nursing Home in Moran; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother, Bonnie Wilson, Mildred Moyer, Bonita Lalman and Lee Willis.
Burial was in Uniontown Cemetery.
