Mrs. Lois Leona Jones, 45, wife of C. E. Jones, rural mail carrier and a resident of Uniontown for 21 years, died last evening(Sept.6,1946) while enroute to the Main Street hospital. Death is attributed to high blood pressure. She had been ill for several months and was dismissed from the hospital in July.
Surviving are the husband, and two sons, Charles L. Jones of Uniontown and Robert G. Jones of the U.S. Navy at Jacksonville, Fla., who traveled to the funeral. Two grandchildren also survive as do three sisters, Mrs. Opal Hill of Manhattan, Kans., Mrs. Edna Mahoney of Haviland, Kansas, Mrs. Ida Hazelton of Los Angeles and the parents. The father L. R. Brown resides in Fort Scott.
Her mother Blanche Newcomb Brown in Los Angeles County, CA.
Mrs. Jones was born in Redfield, Dec. 1, 1901. She was married to C. E. Jones in this city on Dec. 6, 1920. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors lodge.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon (Sept.9) at the Methodist church at Uniontown with the Rev. Charles Wogan officiating. Interment was in Uniontown cemetery.
